A date...

He and I
went on a date!
And that doesn't happen a lot.
We are either miles apart,
travelling together
or sharing a tiny 1-person apartment.
So this was new...
and exciting!
First came dinner,
he shared his fries with me.

 Then came a walk
and a little boat ride
(just to get across the other side of the water)
but when we ''ignored'' all the tourists and commuters...
it was pretty romantic.
Then we saw a movie...
''Moonrise Kingdom''
and he warmed my freezing feet
from the fierce air conditioning.
We didn't feel like going home yet...
so got tea and talked until we couldn't talk no more.

Before we went home,
we finally drank our teas,
(they make them so hot, you have to leave them for an hour)
said goodbye
and went home together.
I think I like him
I hope he asks me out again :)

Yellow fever

Which colour fits Curacao better then...
the colour of the sun?

Never too late

It's never too late
to be
what you might have been

So I will seize that window of opportunity
and be
what I might have been.
Or what I also like to be...
next to all those other things
I want to be and am.

Window of opportunity

Bottles up

Last week we went to Liqueur Factory Chobolobo...
where they make ''Curacao of Curacao''.
Colourful bottles
with colourful drinks
that make you think...
colourful.

Here's some more bottles

Part of the plan

I've always loved futsing... creative futsing...
I am far from ''an artist''.... but I love pretending to be.
And boy, would I love pretending to be one in this art studio.
We visited ''Landhuis Bloemhof'' and this museum-art studio of the woman who used to live there.

One thing I've learned from going on this trip, is that I feel alive when I can futs...
So part of my plan... let myself do creative futsing as much as I want!

Obviously the tap from an artist.

Would love to get my hands on those brushes.

Worn out and pretty

Not talking about me.
I feel happy and free.

Talking about things I see.

Wouldn't you all agree,
that these things wouldn't be...
as pretty
And that it would be
a pity
when these things weren't so gritty.

Missing the tricolour...

and everyone I know and love in that tiny, cold and cozy country...
Now it could be my continuous heatstroke talking...
But I am really looking forward to taking a trip... to Belgium!
Two more months and Belgian Christmas, here I come!

I'm seeing our flag on Curacaoen walls :)

Coming up with a plan...

I've been enjoying the Dutch magazines here in Curacao...
My favorite one is Flow.
I go crazy over this one. It relaxes me, opens my eyes, shows me that life is beautiful, it inspires me and makes me feel connected...
Connected to other people... and, most importantly at this point in my life,
connected to me...

I have Flow to thank for coming up with...
''the plan''...

In Flow number 5, I wrote down my values.
In Flow number 6, I wrote down my dream(s).

It helped me put in to words what I've been feeling while travelling and taking this time off for me.
Travelling does bring you closer to yourself.

Here's to ''the plan''...

Stay tuned :)

Art is in my heart!

Last week, we visited the Art Gallery ''Landhuis Alma Blou''.
As I had hoped and expected from Curacao, the bursts of colour were all over...

The art was inspiring and location itself was very impressive and had a lot of character.

Some impressions...
